April Release?

This has been a crazy month and my plans to release a new book have been pushed back even farther. I’m hoping it will come out during the first half of April.

Meanwhile, here are some excerpts from reviews of my current books:

Secrets in Stone:

“I found Secrets in Stone to be well-written…giving the reader just enough hints to build up the suspense and keep them turning the page to find out how it’s all going to shake out. And it does get a little brutal by the end…. Whenever I pick up a novel from the world of self-publishing, I hope they’ll be like this.” Review by MojoFiction, 3/10/14, author of The Legend of Gerald McGuinness

Twice Blessed:

“If you like some suspense, this is a good read…. Cliffhangers at chapter endings keep the reader wanting to continue to the next chapter. This reader wanted to put the book down, but kept finding myself saying, “one more chapter!”… Loved the ending which thoroughly explains the title. Don’t think the title relates to a “religious theme/book” or you will be shocked at some steamy scenes! Enjoy this novel, I did!” Review by B. Siebert, 3/20/14

Find them on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords!

Release Update

There are a couple similar sayings: “Life is what happens when you’re making other plans” and “Man plans, God laughs.” The sayings have been attributed to anyone from John Lennon and Groucho Marx to Meister Eckhart (a medieval mystic).

My plan to have a new book released on Friday, March 14, has been delayed, possibly for a week. I’ll repost when I have a firmer date.

The new book is a mystery entitled Across A Bright Field, in which a reunion of four college friends results in murder.

This book will be offered exclusively on Kindle through their KDP Select program, so if you are a Kindle owner and also an Amazon Prime member, you’ll be able to borrow it at no cost.

International Read An E-Book Week, 3/2-3/8/2014

According to Smashwords.com, Sunday, March 2, marks the start of International Read An E-Book Week, which was founded by a Canadian woman in 2010. Smashwords.com is supporting this event by allowing authors to discount their books during this week for anywhere from 25% to 100%. Since I’m new to Smashwords, I’m not exactly sure how this works, but they have mentioned coupon codes for the discounts, as well as a link on their homepage to participating books. I anticipate they’ll have full information on how to get the discount on their website starting at 12:01 a.m., March 2. It could be worth looking at, and you might find something that interests you (even if it’s not one of my books, which BTW will be offered at 50% off this week).

Remember, you don’t need an e-reader per se to read an e-book, just a computer. Nook and Kindle offer free PC/Mac versions, and Smashwords carries books in those formats, as well as in PDF format, and several other formats I’m not familiar with.
